Jewel Lake Resort

What a hidden gem and in such a great location! This one would be great for someone looking for a lifestyle change without having to put any time or money into the business right away – turn-key and ready to go! The resort itself has been around for about 30 years, however, it’s built on the old town site of Jewel Lake, that was established when the historic Jewel-Denero Mine came to be back in the early 1900’s. This spot has iconic BC written all over it; picturesque and quiet.
Specializing in camping and fishing with families coming back every year, this truly is a turn-key operation. They are almost fully booked for next season already – this is just from repeat clientele and word of mouth. The resort is in an excellent location being only 6 hrs from Vancouver and only 9 kms off of Hwy 3 on paved road. The resort has been well maintained and has a variety of options from basic tent sites all the way to fully serviced cabins, along with a newly renovated owner’s residence. All of the cabins have also recently been upgraded or improved, including: wiring, plumbing, appliances, mattresses, etc.
The resort is located on 34 deeded acres with approximately 421 feet of lake frontage including a commercial foreshore lease. The lake frontage includes a natural beach and two docks - one for boats and one for swimming; perfect for the kids to get in the water! The resort has a good mix of trees, meadow and also a creek running through the property. The resort consists of an office/lounge, owner’s log residence, 4 – 2 bedroom lakeside cabins, 3 ‘hunter’ cabins, 1 creekside atco trailer turned cabin, 2 docks and over 40 campsites. Some campsites are equipped with power, but all with fire pits and picnic tables. Drinking water is available to campers at 4 locations throughout the campground. Campsites range from tent sites to large RV sites to group sites. There are 2 shower houses on the property, as well as flush toilets and outhouses. There are also various outbuildings including a shop.
Fishing on Jewel Lake is excellent being well stocked with Rainbow and Brooke Trout. The lake is 3 kms long allowing for lots of space and privacy, but not having to worry about guests being out on big water. There are also excellent trails in the area for hiking, quading, biking, horseback riding, etc. The owner’s in recent years haven’t ran the resort in the wintertime, although, there is a lot of interest and tons of potential there. Just some of the winter activities guests could enjoy, include: cross-country skiing, ice fishing, skating, and snowmobiling.
In the past there has also been a restaurant on the premises, however, possibly a better option in the future may be a food truck to service your guests. Currently the owners provide a very limited supply of staple grocery items; ice cream being the hit!
The resort is in 11 titles due to being on the old town site.
