Seven Sisters Trapline
Listing Realtor
Here is a trapline taking in the Seven Sisters Park and Protected Area. Talk about a nice backdrop while you are out on the line! This also protects you from logging and exploration within your trapline.
This trapline is turn-key. The cabin is ready to go – well maintained and situated on a small lake within the Park, furnished with propane oven and wood stove. There are also 3 other cabin sites registered to pick from for future development: one within the Park and two outside (additional building within the Park may not be possible). Only 2 other cabins can be built on the line, although the existing cabin falls within the specifications for a line cabin, so you could build a main cabin on one of the other 3 sites. They don't give out permits to build in Parks very often these days, so having the current cabin lying within the Park is definitely an asset.
There is good lynx, marten, muskrat, ermine, beaver, mink, wolverine, coyote, fox, wolf and even the odd fisher. This line has only been trapped sporadically over the past 3 years and should have healthy populations, including good wolverine.
To reach this trapline you are approximately 1 hr. 20 mins from Smithers or only 30 mins north of Terrace. In the summer and shoulder seasons you can drive 8kms up the FSR to the Park gate with another 5-6 kms on good trail to the cabin. In winter months you unload at the highway and take your snowmobile from there (approx. 14 kms).
Cabin is ready, trails are established, traps are there, equipment needed to start up is included and critters are waiting. Bring your woollies and you are ready to go!
Seven Sisters Provincial Park and Seven Sisters Protected Area are named for the spectacular set of peaks visible from Highway 16 between Hazelton and Terrace.
Seven Sisters Provincial Park and Protected Area offer an exceptional, natural setting for a wide variety of existing and potential recreational activities. Hiking and snowmobiling are two popular frontcountry and backcountry activities.
