Trapline W. of Radium Hot Springs

OK you Kootenay people, this is the one you have been waiting for!  This trapline has it all!  It takes in the Forster Creek drainage just west of Radium Hot Springs.  A cabin was recently built at 6,000’ and is beautiful dovetail construction and showcases 8" x 12" old growth timber beams.  The cabin boasts a large window which allows you to sit in the warmth sipping on a hot drink while you soak up that beautiful mountain view after a day of trapping.  The cabin is off the main trail allowing for privacy and is well shuttered and well-built keeping bears and rodents out!  This is not your typical, old trapper’s cabin, it is tight and clean.  The cabin also has a stream within 300 yards for your water needs. 

This line has been actively trapped and boxes and sets are already in place.  There is a groomed snowmobile trail that runs up the middle of the trapline which makes for great access.  There are a good variety of species on the line to keep you busy; marten is excellent and there’s great lynx just to name a few.  

In addition to the trapping, you have fantastic fishing on the line, great hunting, world-class snowmobiling in your backyard and the stunning Welsh Lakes are just upstream of the cabin for those hikers out there.  The line even takes in multiple glaciers!  Recreational opportunities within the line are endless; this is one of the most picturesque and diverse lines around.
